Ask Questions | Listen | Trust Yourself

Choosing the right people to work with - designers, builders, suppliers, craftsmen - can be as daunting as it is confusing.

With so many options and unspecialised areas, knowing who to select and how they actually work is a bit of a lottery win.

My first line of advice is to trust your instincts. Listen what people say and more importantly, what they don't.

Hopefully these Q&A's will help you make better and informed decisions.

  • Do I Need An Interior Designer?

Yes you do. It is strongly recommended you engage the services of a professional interior designer if you do not have the time or capacity to handle the entire project. Not only will they plan and design your interiors but will guide you on selecting the best products, materials and finishes. Part of an interior designer's job is to help you achieve the look without compromising on quality, durability or budget. Some designers can also manage your project so you don't need to worry about ongoing decisions. At Design & Conker Interiors I offer the entire package and so you have that peace of mind.

  • Is It Expensive To Hire A Designer?

Hiring an interior designer may not be as expensive as you think and is definitely worth it. I work with you on a one-to-one basis to ensure your design expectations aligns with installation accuracy and finishing standards. This is achieved from years of working on mid to high-end residential properties, on/off sites to manage the entire design project and building teams

  • What If My Project Is Fairly Small?

I provide all my clients with a personalised design service for multi-room renovations, single floor redesigns, ground floor extensions and loft conversions. Your project can be as small as 2-3 rooms or large 10+ rooms over multiple floors. Every client and every project is treated with the same level of professionalism.

  • How Long Does It Take To Plan A Project?

Depending on the type of interior (kitchens and bathrooms take the longest), number of rooms and size of the project (full house plus an extension) projects can take 4 weeks to 4 months to properly plan. It is critical to get the planning spot on or the project and budget can quickly spiral out of control. I only start the design installation process once every aspect has been properly checked and is in line.

  • Do I Need A Project Manager?

You really do! Having accurate dimensional drawings, pretty photorealistic visuals, a good project plan and building team means you're equipped and ready but, who's running the show? There will be daily site surprises requiring fast paced actions, technical questions needing decisive answers, product deliveries needing re-directing and loads more to coordinate. At Design & Conker Interiors we look after every aspect of the Design and Build Project in-house. This keeps budgets, design specifications and finishing standards on track to completion timelines.

  • What If I'm Away?

We can handle your entire planning, design and installation project. Weekly progress reports and on-site video calls are provided to keep you informed. You can simply hand over the keys and we'll see you again at the agreed sign-off date. We focus on working alongside you, doing things properly and delivering your expectations.
