Designer | Engineer | Artist
I have always had a passion for science and creativity. Growing up in the Caribbean, with its diverse range of colours, architecture and aesthetic influences from both eastern and western cultures, together form an integral part of my unique design language. With a natural affinity towards Scandinavian and Classic Minimalism, my approach is heavily calculative and utilitarian, with a pared-back palette for clean lines and muted colours. Meticulously selected pieces of furniture, furnishings and lighting are then introduced to produce unique, coherent and visually striking interiors.
The inescapable drive for design compelled me to renounce a career as Art teacher and Engineering lecturer to return to study. After qualifying in Interior Design from London Metropolitan University I worked as a Home Colour Consultant for Fired Earth. Following my role as a Bathroom Designer for Porcelanosa, I was invited to re-join Fired Earth as their London Regional Kitchen and Bathroom Designer. By this time, the disconnect between presenting achievable design plans and what was being so badly built was evident. Determined to bridge this concept-to-reality gap for clients, I consolidated knowledge and experience to establish Design & Conker Interiors. Collaborating with other like-minded specialists, architects and building contractors, we deliver on Residential Design and Turnkey Project Management.
Embracing challenges.
Creating solutions.
Flipping between designer's and engineering hats, living spaces are presented as visually impressive and effortlessly functional. Combining a palette of carefully selected furnishings and surface finishes, interiors are resilient, sustainable and concordant.
